Mike Yard was born on the island of St. Croix in the United States Virgin Islands. He moved to New York in 1986 and began his comedy career in 1993.

He has headlined in comedy clubs across the country and has been featured repeatedly on BET's Comicview, as well as appearing on Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jam and the Apollo Comedy Hour.

Mike Yard is proud to have hosted the Afripalooza Comedy Tour and been nominated for the most thought provoking comic at the Black Comedy Awards in New York City.
